The cabbage market in Croatia opened the period at 44 443 tonnes in 2018, supported by state subsidies for producers and stable consumer prices that encouraged purchases. The following year, market volume fell to 39 966 tonnes, partly due to record exports exceeding 2 000 tonnes which diverted supply abroad. By 2020, the market recovered to 41 364 tonnes as the agricultural strategy emphasized the need to harness the crop's production potential, supporting output.

After declining to 38 156 tonnes in 2021, the market continued to contract to 35 932 tonnes in 2022 when increased exports to neighbouring countries further reduced domestic availability. However, 2023 saw a rebound to 37 082 tonnes, aided by a change in direct support rules that raised subsidies for integrated plant protection and promoted more sustainable production practices.

From 2017 to 2020, production value rose by 27%, with a compound annual growth rate of 8.3%. The largest decrease was observed in 2019 at 7.9%, while the biggest increase occurred in 2018, with a jump of 26.7%.
