The market volume for base metal hat-racks, brackets, and similar fixtures in Spain showed significant fluctuations between 2018 and 2024. Starting at 7 280 t in 2018, it grew slightly to 7 360 t in 2019 before dropping to 6 487 t in 2020. A sharp recovery followed in 2021, pushing the volume to 9 556 t, which marked the highest point in the period. This peak was followed by a decline to 8 534 t in 2022 and 7 532 t in 2023, with a partial rebound to 8 367 t in 2024.

Domestic production played a minor role in total supply, increasing from 138 t in 2018 to a peak of 277 t in 2022 before falling back to 150 t in 2024. Imports, which constituted the bulk of market volume, varied considerably, reaching a high of 12 169 t in 2021. Exports grew steadily from 1 699 t in 2018 to 3 255 t in 2024, thereby reducing the net volume available on the domestic market over time.

In value terms, the market exhibited even greater volatility. The market value rose from 27 692 thousand USD in 2018 to 35 728 thousand USD in 2022, despite a lower physical volume than in the previous year, suggesting shifts in product mix or prices. After 2022, the value contracted sharply to 26 398 thousand USD in 2023 and further to 25 322 thousand USD in 2024.

The lowest export volume was recorded in 2018 at 1 699 tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 17.4%. In contrast, the largest increase occurred in 2019, with a growth of 12.4%.

From 2017 to 2020, exports of brackets and hat-racks from Spain were distributed across numerous countries. Portugal accounted for 23.6% of exports in kind, France for 12.1%, and Italy for 6.8%.
