Earlier Report Observations

The market volume for fresh or chilled beans in Syria showed strong growth from 25 769 t in 2018 to 47 455 t in 2021, as domestic production more than doubled over the same period.

After a sharp decline to 36 146 t in 2022, the market stabilized at 35 615 t in 2023. This stabilization was supported by government agricultural policies, including the expansion of strategic crop cultivation and direct field production support through the Agricultural Production Support Fund, which helped maintain bean output.
