The market for alliaceous vegetables in Georgia expanded strongly from 2018 to 2020, with total volume growing from 40 889 t to 52 180 t. This increase was supported by a significant rise in imports, which climbed from 27 873 t to 38 458 t over the same period.

A sharp contraction followed in 2021, when the market volume dropped by 26% to 38 728 t. This decline coincided with lower domestic production and reduced import volumes. A modest recovery began thereafter, with the market reaching 42 015 t in 2023.

Throughout the period, imports constituted the dominant source of supply. Domestic production showed considerable volatility, peaking at 14 300 t in 2020 before declining to 8 900 t by 2023.
