Earlier Report Observations

The Polish market for prepared additives for cements, mortars, and concretes experienced considerable fluctuations in both volume and value between 2018 and 2024. Market volume in physical terms peaked at 196.6 thousand tons in 2021 after a steady rise from 165.1 thousand tons in 2018, followed by a decline to 158.9 thousand tons in 2023 before a slight recovery to 164.6 thousand tons in 2024. In value terms, the market followed a similar pattern, reaching a high of 116.1 million US dollars in 2021.

The market contraction in 2022, when volume fell to 187.3 thousand tons and value to 107.6 million US dollars, was partly driven by soaring energy costs across Europe. Higher energy prices increased production expenses for cement and additives, which tightened supply and contributed to the reduction in market volume.

After the 2022 downturn, the market continued to slide in 2023, dropping to its lowest point in the period. However, 2024 saw a modest rebound in both volume and value, indicating a gradual stabilization.
