Following a low in 2020, the market value recovered to USD 10.0 million by 2023 but fell again to USD 8.5 million in 2024. This recent downturn was influenced by global supply chain disruptions for raw materials, which affected availability and costs. Concurrently, the introduction of more stringent environmental emission standards for the dye industry required producers to invest in cleaner technologies. The competitive landscape also shifted with the entry of new players offering innovative and ecological acid dyes.

In 2020, exports totalled 275 tonnes, up by 118.1% compared to the previous year. From 2017 to 2020, exports grew by 191.5%, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 42.9%.

From 2017 to 2020, Russia, Serbia, and Ukraine were the key partners for Poland's exports in kind of acid dyes, including premetallised and mordant dyes and preparations based on them. Russia accounted for 23.7% of exports, Serbia for 18.7%, and Ukraine for 14.5%. Together, these three countries made up 56.9% of total export flows.

In 2019, imports fell by 60.0%, the largest decline in the period. Overall, from 2017 to 2020, imports dropped by 53.6%, with an annualized decline rate of 22.6%.

From 2017 to 2020, Germany, India, and Italy were the main sources for Poland's imports in kind of acid dyes, including premetallised and mordant dyes and preparations based on them.
