The market then contracted in the following two years, returning to a volume of approximately 25,750 tonnes in 2024.

Market value trends often diverged from volume due to price fluctuations. The value rose from $80.7 million in 2018 to a high of $108.7 million in 2022, influenced by periods of higher unit prices, notably a 45% surge in 2021. By 2024, the market value had decreased to $81.5 million, aligning with the lower volume level.

Domestic production remained minimal throughout the period, never exceeding 1,317 tonnes annually. Consequently, the market's volume movements closely tracked changes in import flows, which showed similar swings from over 42,000 tonnes in 2021 to under 36,000 tonnes in 2024.

The lowest value was recorded in 2019 at 851 thousand US dollars, with the largest decline of 17.4% also occurring that year.

The peak was reached in 2020 with 9 705 tonnes, and the largest increase of 32.9% also occurred in that year.
