Russian new car and LCV sales jump 26.9% in June 2026
Russia's market for new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles rose 26.9% year on year in June 2026 to 122,731 units. Weekly sales topped 30,914 cars in early July, and first-half volumes reached 608,600 units, up 14.8%.
Russian new car sales accelerate in mid-2026
Russia's market for new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) grew 26.9% year on year in June 2026, reaching 122,731 units, according to data reported by news agency Finmarket. Separate figures from the Avtostat analytical agency, cited by Rambler Auto, show that passenger cars alone accounted for 116,300 units in June, up 29% against June 2025. The numbers point to a broad-based recovery in Russian vehicle demand.
Weekly momentum
Avtostat head Sergey Tselikov reported that in the seventh week of 2026 (29 June to 5 July), new passenger car sales reached 30,914 units, up 7% on the previous week and 7.3% higher than the same period a year earlier. The truck segment showed the strongest weekly dynamics, with 1,196 units sold — an 18.2% gain week on week and 3.2% more than a year ago. LCV sales rose 16.3% week on week to 1,487 units, though the segment remained 21.8% below its year-earlier level.
June best-sellers
By the end of June, the Lada Granta held its position as market leader with 11,300 cars sold including derivative versions, only 2% below its result a year earlier. Second place went to the Chinese Haval Jolion, assembled in the Tula region, at 7,870 units — a 2.2-fold increase. The domestic Tenet T7 crossover completed the top three.
