Hayleys Agriculture Holdings Limited has opened Sri Lanka’s first frozen concentrated coconut water manufacturing facility, marking a new step in the country’s coconut-processing industry. The opening was announced in Sri Lanka on July 23.
The facility is operated through Hayleys Nature Nest (Pvt) Ltd. According to the announcement, it is the first manufacturing operation of its kind in Sri Lanka dedicated to frozen concentrated coconut water.
The launch adds a new processing format to Sri Lanka’s coconut sector. Instead of supplying coconut water only in its original form, the facility can manufacture a concentrated frozen product. This creates an additional industrial route for handling coconut water and positions Hayleys Agriculture in a specialized segment of coconut-based production.
A new processing capability
Concentration and freezing change the form in which coconut water can be supplied to industrial customers. The resulting product can be used as an ingredient by food and beverage processors, subject to their specifications and production requirements.
